Diplomacy works with Axis of Evil ?

The first real breakthrough in the stalemate between North Korea and the rest of the sixpack is the first good news, since President Bush JRs Axis of Evil speech. Of course, seing is bieliving, and having followed these talks for a while, there has been several occasions of disbelieve. It´s all in implementation of the deal. But perhaps this is the most promising sign since 9/11 of a small change in policy towards diplomacy from the Bush administration. If so, could this also be the avenue for a solution with another axis in the evil empire, Iran ?

Election explosion

The German elections today turned out to be an extremly tight race between the CDU/CSU(Conservatives) and the SPD(Socialdemocrats) , with extremly low results for the two giants of German politics. The winners are probably FDP(Fre democrats-liberals), and the new splinter party from the socialdemocrats -ex comunist PDS with their strongman and socialdemocratic renegade Oscar Lafointaine. The Green Party can also play an inportant role in partaking in the negoitions for the new government. The three smaller parties is actually kingmakers this time , and this is probably the way of the future in European politics, an Israelization of german politics, by that i mean that smaller parties is playing an increasingly important role in the make or break of a government. The most likely outcome is that it will be a change of power, that Angela Merkel of the CDU-CSU will be the next Chancellor, indeed the firts woman on that post, and that CDU will hook up with the Free democrats, this is not enough though and the three scenarios taht are being discussed is Ampel, Jamaica and the Grosse Koalition, the negoitions could go on for weeks.
